A-1 Alterations

Message: The owner is friendly and does excellent work. I just picked up my bridesmaids dress and it’s perfect! I dropped off another bridesmaid dress and a jacket because I was so impressed. He only accepts cash or checks, but tells you when you drop off how much it will be so you know what to expect. I’ll be using him for anything I need altered!

Message: I typically use a tailor across town but settled on A1, which is close to home. I needed a pair of pants hemmed. My mother has been using A1 for a while and has even carried clothes here for me that she couldn't fix. I needed a quick job done, and I couldn't wait. I came here, and the job was done within a day.. The cost was only $3, and I failed to catch that A1 didn't take cards, so a customer behind me paid and refused to take a cash app. I'm very grateful to that person who saved me from a trip to the bank. The owner is nice and hardworking. The business is clean and presentable. I don't know if I'm ready to take any extremely advanced tailor jobs here since many places also offer dry cleaning and pressing. I didn't see this as an option here.. The clothing pieces are placed on a hanger, but no garment bags are placed over any clothing hanging on the racks. So, be prepared to walk out with clothes on the hanger without covering. I guess this may be a luxury not provided that keeps A1 prices lower than its competitors. Overall, I am satisfied with the work.

Message: I needed a zipper replaced on an old (but favorite) sports jacket & had almost decided to discard it. I stopped in without an appointment to see if an inexpensive repair could be made. Mr Vurucuoglu stopped what he was doing and promptly repaired it in just minutes. I was really impressed! The coat is now as good as new! VERY reasonable charge for his efforts! I have passed A-1 for years and after todays experience, this is our "go-to" shop. Very friendly, long time Cary resident. Highly recommend!

Message: I can't really speak to how my expectations were surpassed by this place of business. I recently took a jacket to a tailor close to me and had some patches sewn on - cost me more, the completion was later than promised, etc.. I'm very, very pleased with turnaround on this particular "project" by A-1 Alterations given the complexity of working with a lined jacket this time. Outstanding! We had discussed during drop-off that I would likely lose function of a couple of pockets, and I was cool with that, but that didn't happen - all pockets are functional! I even left a couple other things when I left.

Message: Had a dress altered here for my sister's wedding and it came out beautifully! The dress was done in a timelyanner and wasn't too expensive to get done! I had length taken off the bottom, the shoulders taken in and the bust pinned up. I would recommend!

Message: Very professional and straightforward. First class work. The gentleman sewed patches on my hoodies exactly where and how I wanted. They look fantastic. He is the only tailor for me.
